UN MARE DA RESTAURARE A SEA IN NEED OF RESTORATION archivio AMP Miramare La biodiversità del Mar Mediterraneo ha pochi eguali al mondo: pur occupando solo l’1% della superficie oceanica globale, il Mediterraneo ospita circa il 10% delle specie marine conosciute, con oltre 17mila specie tra pesci, molluschi, coralli e alghe, molti dei quali endemici, ovvero presenti solo in questo mare. Negli ultimi anni, tuttavia, il Mediterraneo sta affrontando una preoccupante perdita di habitat e di specie, un fenomeno che ne sta minacciando gli equilibri ecologici ma che può essere contrastato da progetti di restoration dei fondali o delle specie a rischio estinzione. The rich biodiversity of the Mediterranean Sea is one of the richest in the world. Despite occupying only 1% of the global ocean surface, it harbours around 10% of all known marine species, with over 17,000 species of fish, molluscs, corals and algae, many of which are endemic, i.e. only found in this sea. In recent years, however, the Mediterranean region has experienced an alarming loss of habitats and species that threatens the ecological balance. This can be counteracted by restoration projects for seabeds or species threatened with disappearance. LAURA MENIS Laura Menis è nata a Montebelluna nel 1996. Si è laureata in fumetto nel 2019 presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna e nel 2022 ha completato il master in illustrazione presso l’ISIA di Urbino. Nel 2018 è stata selezionata per la mostra degli illustratori della Children Book Fair di Bologna. È la fondatrice del collettivo indipendente Collettivo Canederli, con il quale stampa fumetti dal 2017. Laura Menis was born in Montebelluna in 1996. She graduated in Comics in 2019 from the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna and in 2022 she completed a master’s degree in Illustration at ISIA in Urbino. In 2018, she was selected for the illustrators’ exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. She is the founder of the independent collective Collettivo Canederli, with which she has been printing comics since 2017.
